Six In The City

We've got all the characters: Four career women; a banker; a hotelier; a coffee shop owner; and an insurance adjustor. We've even got our own version of Mr. Big (that would be Howard) and, of course, our gay friend, Forrest. The concept is: It's Cheaper by the Half-Dozen! There will be six of everything, including our version of the Cosmopolitan - the Old Dominion (which is the nickname of our state "Virginia"). We are all getting dressed up; no food at home - our ovens are used, just like Carrie's, to hold our sweaters. We will wisk off in a taxi to a cute little Chinese restaurant where we will talk about, yup - you guessed it - SEX, and then walk to the theatre to see "Sex and the City". At the end of the night we taxi home, filled with new fashion ideas. No "Sex and the City" celebration would be complete without the classic Sunday brunch, so we all plan to gather the next day around 1p in casual clothes and fantastic shoes to continue on the tradition.

Partygoers 6-10

Invitation Invitation? Would Carrie or Samantha send an invitation to have drinks and a movie? I think not!

Décor Clothes, and fabulously expensive shoes, are all the decor we need.

Food Food will be off the menu from a Chinese restaurant. When was the last time you saw Carrie, Miranda or Samantha in the kitchen whipping up some Martha Stewart dish?

Drinks The Old Dominion will be the drink of choice. It is pomagranite juice (red, like the Cardinal, our state bird) and champagne.

Other elements The cocktail table will have a silver bowl filled with an assortment of condoms. Cocktail napkins will have the "I Love New York" logo. For visual aids, there is a collection of coffee-table books of New York, so we can all pretend that we just passed the Meat Packing District, heading towards SoHo or Chinatown.

More information Our party is more of a re-enactment of how Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte might have done things if they had lived in Richmond, Virginia.
