Pet Party Ideas Week continues with two ideas from Rachel Friedman, founder of A Better Pet LLC and blogger at A Better Dog Blog. Rachel has worked professionally with both people and animals for more than 27 years. She is a licensed independent social worker and spent many years providing early childhood development and in-home parenting and emergency mental health/crisis intervention work in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Rachel launched A Better Pet LLC in the fall of 1999 to help clients learn how best to teach their dogs as well as how to create a harmonious household using positive training methods.
Rachel is also an inventor. She created theĀ Har-Vest, the first and only hybrid no-pull harness and vest/backpack for both working and companion dogs. She is currently working on her book, The Six Pillars of Dog Training Wisdom: A Proactive Approach To A Deeper Understanding Towards Developing The Dog Of Your Dreams. Rachel can be heard on Nashville, Tennessee's WRFN's radio show, The Politics of Dogs Tuesdays at 10 am EST.
Rachel shared two great ideas with Celebrations. In how to throw a fab summer dog party, she gives a recipe for making a frozen parfait treat on a stake for dogs to enjoy on a hot day. In Fab Dog Summer Soiree, she lists the ingredients for a great time, which include a kiddie pool and 4-12 dogs.
