The Sumo suits were a hit!
I teach at an elementary school and there are several "Dunderheads" on campus. When faced with the task of planning an end of the year staff in-service we were able to convince our boss we needed a 'team building' event. This of course was an elaborate scheme to throw an Office inspired party. We stole ideas from "Office Olympics", "The Dundies", and "Beach Games" and had great time.
We broke our staff into groups of 4 and had several work inspired relay games including the spoon and egg game. The highlight was watching our principal and vice principal battle it out in rented sumo suits! We didn't pass out yogurt lids on paperclip necklaces but cheap "gold medals" from the party supply store were a hit.
We ended the day with a Dundies inspired awards event were people were recognized for amusing reasons.
The food was simple; we had 800 hot dogs (actually about 40) and other typical picnic fare.
At the end the Office fans in the group were thrilled and the other staff members said it was the most fun they had at a staff conference.
