Christmas on a Farm

My favorite holiday memory is Christmas, 1991. My family and I had a farm house in upstate new york. We had horses, goats, the whole nine... This one particular x-mas, we all packed into our cars and drove upstate to celebrate. When we arrived, it was so cold that the snow froze over the entire 100 acres of property. It was the most beautiful site- a winter wonderland. We literally had to crawl from the car up to the front porch.

We decided to take advantage of the weather and go sleigh riding. Again, this was not snow- it was a solid sheet of ice. My father took out the four wheeler, tied a rope to the sled and hooked it to the back of the four wheeler. Up the hill we went, with the biggest smiles on our faces. At the top of the hill we proceeded to make human pyramids going down the hill. We did this for hours and had the time of our lives.

The next morning, we woke up bright and early to tons of gifts under the X-mas tree. To this day, we still all reflect on what an incredible x-mas that was and it remains such a vivid memory in my heart.
