For our friend's birthday, we decided to throw a party based on the phrase "Rags to Riches." Guests were invited to dress for the theme. We asked them to either be "a rag" or "a rich." For "a rag" we suggested being cut off jeans, sleeveless t-shirts with holes, old shoes, etc. For "a rich" we suggested more formal attire, such as suits, ties, formal dresses, etc. The best moment of the party was when the guest of honor surprised us all by showing up in a white tux! I think this a great and inventive theme, perfect for any adult party. I certainly recommend it for anyone!

Décor For decorations, we used black and pink to continue the contrasting feel of the party. For next time, I would love to use garbage bags to create traditional party decorations, such as a banner or table skirt. There certainly are a lot of ways to take this party depending on your budget.
