Healthy After-School Snacks for Kids

Finding healthy options for after-school snacks doesn’t have to be as difficult as getting the little ones to do their homework! Just look inside the fridge and pantry and you’ll see you probably already have on-hand ingredients for these two yummy and healthy snacks that are perfect to feed your kiddos when they get home.

We’ve got two simple suggestions for you to try this week! Healthy Peanut Butter Yogurt Dip and Olive Oil Sea Salt Popcorn. These are the perfect snacks to whip up for your kids when they get home from school, and they couldn't be easier! They'll keep your kids satisfied until dinner time, and are healthy and nutritious for them. 



Healthy Peanut Butter Yogurt Dip:

  • 1 container Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 2 teaspoon agave syrup or honey
  • 1 apple, sliced
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • Crackers or your choice

In a bowl, whisk peanut butter, Greek yogurt, and honey together with a fork.

Stir until well blended. Serve with sliced fruit and crackers.



Makes: 2 - 4 servings



Olive Oil Popcorn with Sea Salt:

  • 1 package plain popcorn
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 pinches of sea salt

Pop popcorn according to directions on bag in a microwave. Let sit for 1 minute to cool off before touching.

Open bag and drizzle in olive oil, followed by the pinch of sea salt. Hold bag closed tight and shake well to distribute oil and salt.



Makes: 2 - 5 servings
