How to Throw a Sophisticated New Year's Eve Party

New Year's Eve is the time to really pile on the glitz, glamour and glitter. To ring in the New Year, we love parties that sparkle and shine, and get guests excited to start the new year off fresh and on the right foot.

For this sophisticated New Year's Eve party, the gorgeous decorations, glamorous tablescape and delicious signature drink all come together for a chic and elegant celebration.

To really set the mood, make sure your decorations are not only pretty, but also on-theme. That's why we love this Tissue Paper Fringed Garland. Fringed garland is really trendy right now, and it can be made at home with a few simple steps. Add some cardboard letters to spell Happy New Year, and you have a stand-out decor piece that can be reused for many NYE celebrations to come.

Popping bottles of champagne at midnight is the signature move to welcome the new year, and celebrate all of the exciting adventures to come. Instead of leaving your champagne bottles as they are, add some more sparkle by glittering the bottle! (Bonus: you can buy more inexpensive brands and no one will know the difference). Check out our tutoiral for Dazzling DIY Champgne Bottles. You can also use a couple bottles to whip up and serve this yummy Pear Fizz Cocktail.

Set your flutes of champagne and our pear cocktail on these Chic Chalkboard Serving Trays. You can easily label what's being served, and it couldn't be easier to make. Upcycle an old tray or a cheap one from the dollar store, add some chalkboard paint and you're done.

Fresh-cut flowers add an elegant touch of decor to any room, but especially to party decor. Instead of placing white roses in a plain vase, add some gold spray paint, and set with lit votives atop a mirrored serving tray. All of the sparkle and reflections will make for a Breathtaking Centerpiece.

If you're planning on serving dinner, check out our Elegant Table Setting Ideas for some inspiration, and don't forget the dessert -- the Simple Champagne Glass Tiramisu is to-die-for, and really matches with all of the other champagne decor.

Happy New Year!
