Festive Fun for the Little Ones: Easter Egg Party Ideas for Kids

Decorating and dyeing Easter eggs with the kids is one of the most fun parts of the spring holiday. So much so, that we based an entire kid-friendly party around it! Round up the kids, extended family and even members, and throw an Easter egg-themed party the whole family will love.

Hands-On Activities

Dyeing hard-boiled eggs is a quintissential part of any Easter celebration, but I  wanted to take our egg decorating up a notch. The standard colored dye and tie-dye looks are cool, but I created a gorgeous Marbelized Easter Egg by adding only a couple extra steps to the traditional dying process. The results are so wow-worthy, you'll want to display them all throughout the Easter season.

In addition to dyeing eggs as a family – make sure you help the little ones to avoid a mess! – another fun hands-on family activity is this Easter Cookie Decorating Kit from Cheryl's. It comes with pre-baked cookies in fun egg and flower shapes, two tubs of buttercream frosting and colorful spring sprinkles. The kids will love decorating their cookies as much as they will love eating them!

If you want to add something with a bit more crunch, set up a popcorn ball decorating station with help from the Easter Egg Popcorn Ball Decorating Kit from The Popcorn Factory. Each kit comes with eight popcorn eggs ready for decorating and all the sweet fixins needed to turn them into stunning Easter creations (that you can eat!).

Sweet Treats

Luckily, Easter eggs don't just have to be for dyeing and hiding. Another fun Easter egg surprise comes in the form of these adorable Surprise Easter Egg Rice Krispie Treats. Just like the plastic easter eggs, these come with a fun surprise treat inside. And for some more hands-on action, set up a DIY Pudding Dirt Cup bar, complete with marshmallow peeps and gummy worms!

Have the kids wash them down with this Sherbet Punch with DIY Peep Straws. So colorful and fun!

Easy Easter Decor

Add to the vibrant vibe or the party with some easy and inexpensive decor. Instead of going all out, I just used colorful plastic eggs and rafia to fill clear vases, and used them as table decor. For another inexpesive (and tasty!) option, I filled another square vase with colorful jellybeans, and set out colorful marshmallow Peeps on a cake stand for fun Eastery decor that you can also eat!
