Host a Birthday Brunch: Get the Party Started Early with our Festive Ideas

Birthday dinners and cocktail parties are fun, but everybody loves brunch. When elese can you enjoy mimosas, pancakes, french fries and cake? Start the day off with a special celebrating by throwing a fun birthday brunch. Whether it's for yourself, or someone you love, there are so many fun recipes and ideas to host a chic birthday brunch.

Set the Scene

Whether you're doing a sit-down brunch, or more buffet style, creating a colorful, festive atmostphere is essential. We love including fresh flowers to our tablescape, and some DIY elements. These DIY Polka Dot Balloons are a fun fit, and so our DIY paper poppy birthday box place setting (featured above).

Add in some fresh flowers as well to keep the space bright and sunny. We love these tulips from 1800Flowers.com. Check out more ways to style tulips for your table from lifestyle expert Julie Mulligan.

Make Your Food a Part of the Display

Food is a great way to set a party scene--especially for brunch! Setting up a bright bellini bar and different iced coffee assortments will help your guests get into the spirit of celebration!

These cute little raspberry pinwheels will also be a great addition to your table. The fun, flowery shape and bright color will definitely add to the overall presentation, and they taste as good as they look!

For something less formal, add some mini brunch sliders to your menu. That way, guests can mingle without feeling constrained to a sit-down meal with lots of courses! Mini bagels with smoked salmon, and mini frosted donuts (like these from Harry and David) make great menu options, as well.

Include Your Favorite Birthday Treats

In lieu of a birthday cake, try an amazing stack of funfetti waffles in the center of your dessert table! Guests will love the fun play on funfetti and the clever continuation of your “breakfast party” theme. Surround your waffles with some frosted cookies and pretzels for variety. Your guests will love the attention to detail!

Now go forth, and celebrate like a pro!
