Olive Oil Tuna & Grape Lettuce Wraps

No one wants to start out the New Year eating heavy and fatty foods. Well at least most people don’t! So when planning a meal on New Years it’s always a good idea to have healthier foods on the menu.

These Olive Oil Tuna Salad Lettuce Wraps are light and easy and can be made mostly in advance. The tuna salad is made with olive oil instead of mayonnaise, which adds a much healthier spin on the classic tuna salad.

By adding grapes into the tuna salad, you throw an unexpected twist to the recipe that brings extra flavor and sweetness. Plus, grapes are known to be lucky when enjoyed on New Years Day. I’ll take that!



  • 2 cans Albacore Tuna
  • 2 stalks of celery, diced
  • 10 Pickles, Chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Honey Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tablespoons pecans, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Pepper
  • 1 small bundle of grapes, cut in half
  • Salt and pepper, to Taste
  • 1/4 cup olive oil, plus more if needed
  • 1 head of Iceberg Lettuce, leaves detached to create lettuce cups

Place the 2 cans of tuna in a large bowl, and, using a fork, break apart the large chunks of tuna. Add the diced celery, chopped pickles, honey Dijon mustard, chopped pecans, lemon pepper, grapes, salt, and pepper.

Using the same fork, stir together the ingredients. Once combined, add the olive oil and stir to disperse the olive oil and to coat all the ingredients completely. Add more salt and pepper if needed.

To serve, place 1 spoonful of the tuna salad inside each lettuce cup. Serve immediately.

The tuna salad can be made in advance, just be sure to keep it a sealed container in the refrigerator until ready to serve and place in the lettuce cups.

This tuna salad lasts up to 3 days in a sealed container.
