Whimsical Ribbon Wreath for Fall

Decorate your door for fall with this DIY whimsical ribbon wreath craft!

Everyone loves embracing a new season, and this crafting project is something that your little crafters will love creating while getting into the fall spirit. With little supervision and a bit of patience, the concept for this wreath can offer endless inspirations for both seasoned and young crafters alike.

Using nothing more than ribbon and wire, you can spend hours or minutes creating your own version of this whimsical ribbon wreath to adorn your front door.

  • A length of mesh ribbon 3 times as long as the circumference of the wreath
  • A length of ribbon to use as the bow at the base of the wreath
  • A length of ribbon to use to accent the mesh that is twice as long as the circumference of the wreath.
  • Spray Paint in a color that accents the ribbon
  • Crafting wire or floral wire
  • A foam ring

Step 1: Spray paint the foam wreath, ensuring that there is no white showing and then allow it to dry.

Step 2: Cut small lengths of wire, about 10 pieces, to have handy to tie the ribbon together around the wreath.

Step 3: Using the mesh ribbon begin looping it around the foam wreath, starting with a small loop, twisting that, securing with wire, before moving along the face of the wreath repeating the pattern of loop, twist, tie until the wreath is covered in the mesh ribbon. Leave a few inches of bare space at the top or bottom of the wreath to position the complimenting bow.

Step 4: Once the mesh ribbon is in place, tie the complimentary bow, securing it to the empty space on the wreath using a piece of wire.

Step 5: Complete the wreath by using your accent ribbon to loosely wrap around the mesh ribbon and leave an accent across the face of the entire wreath.

Hang on your door for a beautiful touch of Fall in your décor!
