Valentine's Day DIY: Unicorn Valentine Box with FREE Printable

Valentine's Day in school is always fun: teachers often encourage Valentine and treat trading, meaning that kids come home with tons of fun things! We have an easy way to help your little one organize all of his or her treats (and not lose them in that backpack)!

It’s almost Valentine’s Day, and every parent knows what that means: you'll need a cute and creative Valentine box for your child to collect notes and candy in at school! We’ve come up with an easy Valentine box (that won’t make you want to pull your hair out--and a FREE printable that your kids will love!

Supplies
  • Our Valentine Unicorn Printable
  • Box (We used a box from Cheryl’s Cookies)
  • White wrapping paper
  • Scissors
  • Tape and glue dots
  • Curling ribbons – several colors
Directions

Step 1: On your box, cut the inside flaps in half. Tape down the flaps, leaving the top flap free. Wrap your box in the white wrapping paper, wrapping the top flap separately as a way to put treats into your box (and get them out again later).

Step 2: Cut out the ears, eyes, heart cheeks and unicorn horn from our printable

Step 3: Use tape or glue dots to attach to your box to create your unicorn.

Step 4: Cut several pieces of curling ribbon (about 16 inches for the front and 30 inches for the back) and tie a knot in the middle of them. Curl them with scissors to create a mane and glue or tape to the top of your box.

Step 5: Glue the horn on top with 2 pieces of tape on the inside of the horn and pressing it down on the top of the mane.
