Unexpected Flower Decor: Just Look Around You!

I own actual vases. Two, actually. But one of them is enormous and really only for I-Mean-Business bouquets (upwards of 12 blooms, plus filler), and the other is...well...sort of broken. I patched it back up with superglue, but still: it's best to keep it out of action these days. But the scarcity of vases around these parts is zero problem when you have a bit of a penchant for unusual vessels, as I do.

Really, all you have to do to find fun things to display your flowers in is take a look around your home.

I've tucked sunflowers into seashells.

Filled sake carafes with stems.

And placed single blooms into egg cups.

Empty candle holders work beautifully - just be sure to clean them out thoroughly by placing them in the freezer for a bit before chipping out any leftover wax.

And if you want to get really original, create an unforgettable entryway decor option by placing some tall, dramatic stems in a gorgeous old cowboy boot and setting it by the door.

Some more Faux Vase inspiration

Empty coffee cans and soup cans, labels removed
Shot glasses and votive holders (go for single blooms with the stems cut off)
Old watering cans
Pretty thermoses
Soap dispensers
Jam jars
Fish bowls
Old perfume bottles (bonus: if you fill one with silk flowers, they'll pick up the scent)
Vintage creamers
Mason jars (try wrapping a bit of twine around the lip)
Teacups and tea pots
Old milk jugs (the vintage-y glass kind)

Make a Quick & Cute Centerpiece

In terms of incorporating your innovative arrangements into centerpieces, what I like to do is fill various containers of different sizes and heights with the same blooms, and then keep the rest of the tablescape fairly simple so that the flowers can take center stage. So unusual, and so lovely.
