St. Patrick's Day Craft Ideas for Kids

Whether you have little kids or preteens, we've got a ton of craft ideas to inspire them to get creative and celebrate St. Patrick's Day in their own ways.

St. Patrick's Day is the holiday we start looking forward to right after Valentine's Day. There are so many recipes, decor ideas and colorful crafts for the holiday that can get kids thinking creatively. It is also a great time to teach them about the history behind St. Patrick's Day as well as why it is so special in the Irish culture.

Rainbow Bunting

Add some color to your home by letting the kids craft this fun and easy DIY rainbow banner. With some a some construction paper and pretty patterned card stock, they can make little triangles for their banner.

The cutest part are the mini color coordinated clothespins that fasten the paper to twine. Let the kids paint the clothespins and assemble the banner, then decorate their room or another space in the house!

Edible Leprechaun Treats

With a few M&M's, pretzels, Rolos and Hershey Hugs, kids can make their own little leprechaun treats. Not only is it a fun crafting activity in the kitchen, they are super yummy and kids will love sharing them with their friends.

Bag of Gold Treat Bags

With a heart stamp, help the kids make these cute shamrock treat bags that they can bring to school and give to their classmates or give out to their friends and family.

The stamping process is easy, just show them how to make a shamrock by stamping their heart stamp three times!

Shamrock Men

We love any craft that uses washi tape (we are not so secretly obsessed) and these little shamrock men using toilet paper rolls seem like a great way to keep kids occupied.

This tutorial from sweet and lovely crafts will show you how to make cute shamrock men with only a few supplies. Kids might need help cutting out their foam shamrocks, but the rest is easy! It would be really cute to stuff the toilet paper rolls with candy and give them out to friends or teachers as a fun way to celebrate the holiday. This could even be a great craft teachers to do with their students in class.

Homemade Clover Card

We all learned to press dried flowers between the pages of a book to flatten and craft with them when we were little. Just Mommies did the same thing, but created a pretty clover using the leaves of an oxalis plant.

Once your "clover" is all pressed and flat, fasten it to your card. Kids can use decorative washi tape for this then decorate the rest of the card with markers, ribbons and stickers.
