Spring Flower Easter Basket for Girls

Give your little girl's Easter basket a makeover this year! Instead of a boring wicker basket try embellishing yours with lots of faux flowers for a truly spring-like look that's beautiful and one-of-a-kind.

My goal this year with my grandchildren's Easter baskets was to craft little baskets that they might use again for another purpose after filling them full of eggs during the big egg hunt. With that in mind, I selected colors that would work well with their bedroom decor and tried to use their favorite things to inspire the overall look.

This beautiful little basket will look great on the shelf in any little girl's room and is sophisticated enough to live on for years. It's also the ideal holder for hair bows or other little goodies girls always have lying about.

I began with a little brown basket and then transformed it by covering it in purple hydrangea blossoms. To finish it off, I simply tied some ribbon around the handle. I know this basket will be around long after the Easter festivities are over.

  • small basket
  • silk hydrangeas
  • hot glue
  • ribbon

Step 1: With scissors, snip all of the individual blossoms from the silk hydrangea stem.

Step 2: Beginning at the top row of the basket, glue each blossom to the basket with hot glue, overlapping  as you go.

Step 3: For the blossoms at the bottom of the basket, turn the petals under and glue to the bottom. Glue one row of blossoms to the inside top edge of the basket.

step 4: Tie a little bow around the handle and fill with excelsior or Easter grass.
