Moss Covered Paper Mache Easter Eggs

When it comes to decorating Easter eggs, the creative possibilities are endless. In addition to stocking up for the traditional Easter egg hunt the kids enjoy, I like to incorporate eggs in my Easter decorations. So, I often find myself transforming plain paper mache eggs to match my holiday themed décor every year. You can pick up paper mache eggs at your local craft store or you can order in bulk online.

I've tried a number of Easter egg decorations in the past, but this year I’m keeping my Easter décor simple with natural elements and moss accents. This moss covered Easter egg craft is easy to make and perfect for a craft night with friends. It makes a gorgeous display on any surface and I particularly love them on my Easter table.

Preserved moss

Hot glue

Step 1: To make the moss covered eggs you will need to separate your preserved moss into thin layers. Remove the bottom layer as much as possible to prevent the moss from appearing bulky.

Step 2: Working in sections hot glue the moss onto the egg.

Step 3: To embellish the moss eggs, add ruffled ribbon to the bottom or center of the egg. Display in an eggcup, clear vase, or decorative bowl to add to your Easter décor.
