Keep Your Champagne Bubbly on Valentine's Day with this One Easy Trick

You can't have a Valentine's Day celebration without champagne. The only problem with serving champagne to a crowd is that the bubbly tends to lose its effervescence after a while. Luckily, I have a fun and easy way to keep your champagne fresh and add a fun touch of glam to your food serving table.

Valentine's Day is usually all about the reds, pinks, whites and light pastel colors. But I love adding some pops of metallics to balance out all the rose-colored hues, especially silver and gold. When I saw I had some leftover gold foil candy wrappers, I had this fun idea to use them on top of champagne flutes to keep the wine bubbly and fresh for your Valentine's Day guests.

If you're looking to mix up a little champagne cocktail, keep a sweet liqueur nearby, such as St. Germain or Chambord, and some fresh berries. If you and your guests decide to go with a mixed drink instead of just plain champagne, cover the flutes with your foil wrapper and stick a fun striped straw inside. Voila! Delicious champagne cocktail and a fun, chic way to serve it.

  • Gold foil candy wrappers (you can find them at your local craft store)
  • Champagne flutes
  • Champagne, Prosecco or your sparkling wine of choice
  • St. Germain
  • Fresh berries or fruit puree of your choice (optional)
  • Striped straws

Step 1: Pour as many glasses of sparkling wine as you expect people to arrive. When not using, cork up bottle and keep on ice in a wine bucket. I got my monogrammed wine chiller from 1-800 Flowers.

Step 2: Add 1 ounce of St. Germain, berries and puree, if desired. Cover with gold foil wrapper.

Step 3: Stick in striped straw to enjoy your champagne cocktail!
