DIY Floral Spring Wreath Tutorial

Sometimes bigger is not always best - especially when it comes to spring inspired accent wreaths. Using smaller wreathes to adorn windows, a chest of drawers, shelves and tabletops is a festive way to bring spring indoors with subtle decorative elements.

This Easter floral wreath included a number of DIY projects – egg painting, ribbon making and wrapping the wire wreath in moss. If time is not on your side, all of these DIY steps can be skipped by buying all the supplies ready made, leaving you with the fun task of designing your wreath.

  • 1 small wire wreath
  • 1 spool of crafting moss
  • 1 hot glue gun
  • A collection of faux flowers
  • 1 bottle of crating paint
  • 6-10 small Easter eggs
  • 1 foam brush
  • A length of ribbon
  • 1 length of floral wire (optional)

Step 1: Using the crating paint, and your foam brush decorate your cardboard eggs and then allow them to dry. If time is not on your side, you can skip this step by using pre-decorated eggs rather than decorating your own.

Step 2:. Using a hot glue gun, glue the crafting moss to the underside of the wreath to secure it in place. Taking care to glue each length of the wire wreath to the moss to give it maximum security.

For additional staying power you can use a length of floral wire to wrap around the moss once you have glued it into place.

Step 3: Using your length of ribbon, tie the bow that will adorn your wreath, taking care to measure out where it will be placed on your wreath so you know where to place your flowers and eggs.

Step 4: Attach the flowers to the top of your wreath using the hot glue gun, then attach the Easter Eggs to the top of your wreath using the hot glue gun.

Step 6: To complete the wreath, attach the ribbon using a hot glue gun to secure it in place.
