Giant Tissue Paper Snowflake DIY

To create more variety and depth in our winter wonderland party, we added these tissue paper snowflakes to the mix. They're a softer texture than the standard paper snowflakes, and really made us feel like we were in a different world.

These tissue paper snowflakes are a little easier to make than the giant paper snowflake, since tissue paper is softer and easier to handle. Have fun with your designs!

  • 2 pieces of white tissue paper
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Fishing line or thin string

Step 1:Lay two pieces of tissue paper on top of each other and fold the short side up and down like an accordion. I folded mine about 2.5 inches wide.

Step 2:Fold your accordion paper in half and tie with fishing line.

Step 3:If desired you can pre-draw your design before cutting it out or you can just freehand it. Here is the design I created.

Step 4:Fan out your accordion slightly and tape together on both sides to form a circle. Slightly fluff out the 2 pieces of tissue paper to create more dimension.

Step 5:Hang and enjoy!
