Upcycled Painted Flower Vases

We love upcycling everyday objects into creative, colorful pieces of decor. And if we can incorporate them as part of our Easter tablescape? Even better!

These DIY painted Easter vases are so simple to make with any leftover jar you may have — just raid your recycling bin! With some simple paint and twine, you have adorable Easter flower vases. I wanted to create simple, but recognizeable faces for Easter, so I went with chicks and bunnies, but you could have fun experimenting with different shapes and colors. So get to digging; that old salsa jar could be the highlight of your Easter table!

Supplies
  • Glass jars (I used mason jars from the store)
  • Paint
  • Raffia
  • Sharpies (optional)
Directions

Step 1: Paint several layers of paint onto your jars. White was cute for a bunny, while blue and yellow make good bird colors. I used a sponge to create some texture and let them dry overnight.

Step 2: Once dry, you can draw with Sharpies or paint on eyes and a beak or nose to create a bunny or bird face.

Step 3: Fill with water and some pretty flowers and voila! A pretty little DIY vase for your Spring décor.
