Glow in the Dark Halloween Decorations

If there's ever an opportunity to have some crafty fun with glow in the dark paint, it's got to be Halloween! With all the spooking that goes on around the holiday, glow in the dark decorations lend themselves really well to the occasion.

Whether you're a DIY maven or wannabe crafter, there's a do-it-yourself glow in the dark Halloween decoration out there for you to make. We got creative with our Decoart glow in the dark paint in our own office and also got inspired by some projects we found around the web

Spooky Glowing Gourds

Fall gourds are an elegant and chic way to dress your doorway throughout the fall season, but why not give them a glow that'll really stand out? Instead of just clustering a few on the porch as soon as you get them from the store, invite them inside for a spooky makeover.

We just applied some of our glow in the dark paint to the whites of our gourds, allowed them to dry and then lined them up outside. During the day, they absorbed lots of sunlight, and then as night fell, they began to glow. They stayed as chic as they were in the morning sun, but got some added Halloween flair for the evening.

Glow in the Dark Path

We've got some crafty DIY Halloween luminaries you could use to light your path for trick-or-treaters, but we're also big fans of using some glow in the dark paint on a rock lined walk. Just paint a few or all the pebbles leading to your door with the paint and you've got a subtle, yet spooky glow for your walk.

Glowing Hidden Messages

Craft a classic pennant banner for your Halloween mantle, but add a hidden message to the mix. Using glow in the dark paint, write a spooky seasonal greeting that by day you won't see, but will appear once it gets dark.

Eerie Eyeball Glowing Wreath

Craft a Halloween wreath that glows! Get your hands on some light plastic eyeballs, then paint them with your glow in the dark paint. Once they've tried, cover a black lined foam wreath with your glowing eyeballs using a hot glue gun. Hang and watch as they peer out of the glow!

Oogling Owls

The kids will enjoy this last crafty Halloween decoration a lot. Make a spooky looking owl to hang in your home, but don't stop with a regular old haunted look - go the extra step and give your owl glowing eyes!
