DIY Bloomin' Carrot Bouquet

When it comes to decorating for spring and Easter, I love incorporating organic elements into the mix to create a rustic country vibe. Thanks to their bright color, and association with the Easter Bunny, carrots make for bright and vibrant pieces of decor.

The bright orange color of carrots match particularly well to spring flowers, especially these bright tulips from 1800Flowers.com. Tulips are one of my favorite flowers, and I just love decorating with them for the spring and Easter.

To add a creative touch to a flower arrangement, I created this simple DIY carrot vase using pre-cut carrots (with part of the stem still attached), a shallow vase and rubber band. I added more fun touches of color with patterned ribbon. Don't the orange carrots complement the tulip arrangement nicely? This is the perfect centerpiece for your Easter table, or any spring parties you plan on decorating for.

Supplies
  • Peeled long carrots, stems attached preferred (about 12-15 carrots)
  • Short, round vase
  • Large rubber band
  • Ribbon
  • Flower arrangement of your choice. I used tulips from 1800Flowers.com
Directions

Make sure your vase is completely clean before starting. Fill vase with water and flowers.

Secure the rubber band around the vase. Then, insert your carrots one-by-one behind the rubber band. Make sure there are enough to go around so that the carrots are secure.

Tie a ribbon around the carrots to conceal the rubber band.

Display, and enjoy!
