Decorations and Table Setting for a Baseball Themed Party

Whether it's a party for a young boy, or a more sophisticated affair for an older fan, a baseball party can be both stylish and fun.

And with the right decorations on hand, creating the perfect baseball-themed table setting is simple and quick. I took an actual baseball and pulled my inspiration from there, creating a simple red and white color scheme.

Start out with a clean and crisp white tablecloth. Layer a contrasting red and white chevron runner, which you can either buy (think Etsy) or create yourself. To make the runner, pick up fabric (if you can’t find chevron, feel free to use stripes) from any fabric store. Cut the fabric into the length and width that fits your table best, then sew the edges to finish off the runner with a clean look.  Once you have your runner completed, place it on the table.

Fill glass vases with used baseballs. I used tall round vases that I had on hand, but any style and shape will do, as long as they are large enough to fit at least three baseballs. Then, to add contrast, place some more baseballs on top of simple glass cake stands.

If you’re wondering where to get so many used baseballs, you can always ask a local team or coach if you could borrow some for just a weekend, or you can check eBay and Craigslist for people selling baseballs in bulk. (If worst comes to worst, you can go to your local sporting goods store and buy brand new baseballs. Keep them for a later use or give them away to a baseball team in need after the party.)

Scatter the vases and cake stands in the center of the table to create visual interest.

Finish off the table with an easy baseball-themed place setting-you don't need anything over-the-top or expensive to make each guest feel special! To continue the white theme, I layered white plates on top of the white tablecloth.  I used basic paper napkins (no need for cloth!) and topped them with organic wooden cutlery. I chose a simple green and white paper napkin because I liked the way it contrasted, but didn’t compete, with the white and red runner.

As both decoration and a favor, place Baseball Cards on each plate. The guests will be intrigued by which cards they received-and excited about being able to take them home!
