Trending Now: One Little Black Dress, Three Holiday Outfits

Getting all decked out for the holidays doesn't have to mean donning an ugly sweater or throwing on a pair of fake reindeer antlers. It also doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg.

A simple black frock makes for a blank canvas that's fun to play around with for the holidays, and can be dressed up or dressed down for any occasion. With so many parties, family gatherings and work obligations, you can easily rock just one LBD throughout the entire holiday season with a few fun adjustments.

Black and gold is a popular color combination right now, and the pop of metallic is a perfect way to show your holiday spirit without being too over-the-top. We also love the idea of playing around with accessories, shoes and makeup to sport the signature colors of the season in a classic and fashionable way.

Thanks to Polyvore, we have created three fun and fashionable holiday outfits all revolving around a Black Skater Dress from Dorothy Perkins, which is currently retailing for just $29 online. Take a look at our three fashion collages, and let us know which one you like best. Do you recycle an item of clothing throughout the holiday season?

Little Black Dress Dressed Up for an Office Holiday Party

Office Holiday Party

It's perfectly fine to jazz up your regular work clothes at the company holiday party, and add some bold accessories that you may otherwise shy away from during your regular 9-5 schedule. But keep in mind that it's still an office party with your coworkers, so refrain from wearing anything too distracting or out-of-line.

This black dress looks great also paired with black tights (we love this polka dot pattern from Anthropologie) and a pair of black platform booties. Keep the outfit polished and a little more conservative with a blazer, but we love the idea of adding in some festive cheer with a sequined gold piece like this chevron sequined blazer from ShopBelle.

To add some holiday cheer, accessorize with a red belt to cinch your waist, and rock a pair of snowflake earrings. Some deep red nail polish, like this Essie color in Shearling Darling, is another great way to accessorize red in a chic way. Keep all of your belongings in a simple, yet stylish black clutch (with a pop of metallic, of course).

Little Black Dress Dressed Up for a Christmas Cocktail Party

Christmas Cocktail Party

If you go to the same Christmas cocktail party ever year, or your family's Christmas festivities call for a fancier dress code, you can't go wrong with a pair of embellished pumps and a statement necklace.

We paired the dress with a pair of black pumps from Sole Society that have a touch of holiday gold at the toe, which is a big trend for winter. Instead of cheesy Christmas trinkets, we decided to add a festive red statement necklace from JC Penny for just $18. We added another Christmas touch with the emerald earrings, and a gold bangle that looks like it's wrapped up in a bow.

Like J Crew's Creative Director Jenna Lyons says, leopard is a neutral. Add some pattern and texture to the solid dress with this clutch from Top Shop, which also works as a fun going out bag year-round.

To keep your shoulders covered and protect against the December chill, throw on a cardigan in winter white (but keep it unbuttoned). We love this sweater from Zalando, especially since the buttons are gold, which add some fun embellishment.

New Year's Eve party outfit inspiration. LBD + statement heels & glam accessories.
Glamorous New Year's Eve Night Out
Whether you're sitting VIP in your city's hottest club or headed to a more intimate house party, New Year's Eve is the perfect excuse to really get glammed up and show off sparkles, sequins and glitter. We took the little black dress and added some elements of glam in just about everything. The brighter, the better!
The sequined platform heel pumps from Karen Millen really make a statement and stand out in the outfit. We also paired the dress with a sequined gold clutch, and a stack of gold bracelets. The "Cheers" bracelet from C Wonder could not be more perfect for a night of popping bottles and toasting to the New Year. Cinch your waist with a fun gold belt to top off the outfit.
New Year's Eve is also a fun time to play around with your makeup, and we love the idea of a bright fushia lip, like this YSL Le Rouge Pur Couture in shade 57. Get bold with a smoky eye, and use the colors like this Smokey Cool palette from Bobbi Brown.
