Our 5 Favorite Eggs Benedict Variations

Throwing a brunch party is a great way to bring friends and family together to enjoy a meal, and to try variations on classic dishes that might soon become the next big crowd pleasers. Whether it’s your very own signature omelet, a breakfast pastry with a unique sweet and fruit combination, or an unexpected egg dish, you’ll know you’ve hit it out of the park when your guests call the next day for your recipe!

One dish that’s surprisingly simple to modify is eggs Benedict. By using different bases, meats, and sauces, you can easily cater this brunch favorite to different tastes. If you love a savory eggs Benedict—and want to get creative with it—we've got five different (and super easy) ways to make this delicious dish:

Classic Eggs Benedict

This famous combo of poached eggs, an English muffin, Canadian bacon, and hollandaise sauce was reportedly first served at the Waldorf Hotel in New York City at the turn of the twentieth century. Ever since then the poached egg delight has been a part of restaurant brunch menus all over the nation. Make it for yourself with the help of Wolferman's Eggs Benedict Box, which comes with English muffins, Canadian bacon and a hollandaise sauce mix. Just add eggs! (Psst: You don't have to poach 'em—fried or scrambled are equally good!)

Southern Belle

Want to shake up the 'raft' that's holding your eggs? Head on down to Dixie and slice up a few biscuits. You can make your own favorite recipe or try these Biscuits and Gravy from Wolferman’s. Skip the hollandaise—since this package includes sausage gravy—and add a slice of Canadian bacon as you would for the classic version.

Sliders

There's nothing cuter than a mini version of a beloved dish, and eggs benedict is no exception. To make yours memorable, try Wolferman's Mini English Muffins. Whether you want to serve smaller portions as part of a brunch buffet, or to fix this treat for a group of kids at your next sleepover, a mini version of eggs Benedict is simply adorable.

American Eggs Benny

While Canadian bacon is the traditional meat of choice for eggs Benedict, you may have kids (or adults!) who prefer good ol' bacon or sausage. Breakfast Meat Assortment from Wolferman’s sets you up nicely with a variety of meat—sausage links, sausage patties, and a pound of bacon. For the non-meat eaters in the house, you can always layer sautéed spinach a la eggs Florentine in place of the meat or try a few slices of smoked salmon for a luxe (or lox!) touch.

Burger Benedict

Need one more idea? Transform your brunch treat into an all-American affair with beef sliders in place of pork. These cute Mini Steak Burgers from Stock Yards are a fun and unexpected twist (choose from USDA choice or prime selections). Arrange a variety of sauce choices that includes hollandaise, ketchup, mayo, mustard, chili sauce, and ranch dressing.

Whichever eggs Benedict recipe you try for brunch, add complementing cocktails (or mocktails), healthy sides like fruit salad, and plenty of coffee. If you’ve got your own twist on the classic, please share it in the comments below!
