Festive Tea Light: Holiday Tabletop Idea

Preparing for Thanksgiving today, I put together a great-looking frosty accent for my holiday table. I made a festive tea light holder using cranberries. These look fantastic when you have many of them scattered with autumn leaves, loose cranberries, branches and seasonal gourds. Do it in four easy steps:

  1. Simply fill a basic votive holder with water and several attractive looking cranberries.
  2. Float a tea light at the top of the water, and put the entire unit into the freezer. Make sure to not overfill the votive holder before freezing as water will expand.
  3. Allow to defrost just a touch then unmold the iced cranberry votive holder from the glass votive holder, and you have a frosty "glass" way to light your holiday tables and buffets.
  4. Make sure to place a small mirror or colored glass square underneath your frosty creation to catch any melting residue.
