This past Thursday night, the stars were out for the 10th Annual White Tie and Tiara Ball to Benefit the Elton John Aids Foundation with Chopard. The gala was held at Elton John’s home in Old Windsor in the United Kingdom.

GUEST LIST

The guest list included Elton John, David Furnish, Denzel Washington, Bill Clinton, Gordon Ramsay, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, Mischa Barton, Liz Hurley, Uma Thurman, Rod Stewart, Elle MacPherson, Orlando Bloom and Chris Tucker.

See if any of these stars went Platinum this week!

THE SCENE

The event was held at Elton John’s private estate in Old Windsor. The theme for the evening was the 1960’s. All 630 guests were treated to a sit-down dinner of oscietra caviar, stone black bass and a tranche of chocolates wrapped in gold leaf.

Bill Clinton, Will Smith and Elton John all addressed the crowd before the silent auction began. The auction had such prizes as a field trip to Africa with Elton John and dinner with Bill Clinton. To complete the 60’s theme Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys performed some of his classic hits.

THE DRESS

Everyone was dressed to impress for this formal event. The men all wore a variety of designer tuxedos. Most of the women wore gowns right out of a Disney princess movie with diamond earrings, tiaras and or necklaces.

Liz Hurley looked like Cinderella in a blue gown and diamond tiara. Natalie Imbruglia wore a beautiful black satin gown designed by Stella McCartney to compliment her sparkling necklace.

THE CAUSE

The Elton John Aids Foundation was started in 1992 by the British singer. The auction alone raised nearly $20 million, which brought the total raised by the charity to over $120 million. The goal of the foundation is to provide funding for educational programs about HIV/AIDS prevention and to provide help to those living with disease.
