New York has got its sexy back with the premiere of the much-anticipated Sex and the City movie. Fans across the nation are armed with swizzle sticks ready to stir and sip cocktails in honor of the Fab 4’s return to the screen. While the TV show catapulted the Cosmo to fame, we’ve got some fresh cocktail ideas based on each main character for your Sex and the City celebrations.

Carrie’s “I Love NY” Cocktail

Carrie is all heart. Her passion for shoes, Mr. Big, and New York City is one of her most endearing character traits. The Sex and the City movie plot has been a well-kept secret, however, they have made it known that Carrie and Big are getting married. Who knows if they’ll actually go through with it, but love is in the air!

We couldn’t completely abandon the traditional Cosmo, but this time around, we wanted to give it a little more heart with a couple of drops of passion fruit liqueur as you’ll find in our recipe below for Carrie’s “I Love NY” Cocktail.

The Bloody Miranda

Spicy and savvy, Miranda is a woman who tells it like it is. Even though her decision in the TV series to move from Manhattan to Brooklyn was for the sake of her family, it showed a more creative side to the practical character that we all count on.

Inspired by her spirit and the fiery nature characteristic of many redheads, we’ve put a Sex and the City spin on the Bloody Mary cocktail.

Our recipe for the Bloody Miranda below, includes traditional ingredients such as tomato juice and vodka, but we’ve pepped it up a bit with a pepperoncini garnish and a splash of its juice.

Charlotte’s Chocolatini

Perhaps the fairest character of all is sweet Charlotte. Always the optimist, Charlotte knew that Carrie would end up with Mr. Big (at least that’s what she says in the movie trailer).

By the end of the TV series, Charlotte’s life had all but a cherry on top with a devoted hubby and the baby of her dreams.

Samantha’s Peach Stinger

Mix in Style with this Pink Crystal Cocktail Shaker!

Oh, how we love Samantha and her libidinous ways. What we adore most about this vixen is that no matter many men come and go in her life (or in a week), she always has time for her girlfriends.

Though Samantha has settled down with a boyfriend half her age, she is still as hot as ever and deserves a zinger of a cocktail!

To keep her breath kissing sweet, we’ve revamped the classic crème de menthe stinger into a peach schnapps blend. The recipe for Samantha’s Peach Stinger can be found below.

For John James Preston, soon-to-be Mr. Carrie Bradshaw, and forever known as Mr. Big, we had to go with a simple single malt scotch on the rocks!

Let’s hope that the “rock” he places on Carrie’s finger shines as brightly as she does!

Carrie’s “I Love NY” Cocktail

1 oz. vodka
1/2 oz. triple sec
1/2 oz. Alize’ Gold Passion Fruit liqueur
1 oz. red cranberry juice
splash of fresh lime juice
lime twist for garnish

Add ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a Martini glass. Garnish with a lime twist.

Carrie’s Wedding White Cosmo

1 1/2 oz. vodka
1/2 oz. triple sec
1 oz. white cranberry juice
splash of fresh lime juice
granulated sugar for the glass rim

Run a lime wedge around the rim of a Martini glass and dip rim in granulated sugar. Add ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into the sugar-rimmed Martini glass.

The Bloody Miranda

1 1/2 oz. vodka
4 oz. tomato juice
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 tsp Worcestershire
splash pepperoncini juice from the jar
celery salt for glass rim
pepperoncini for garnish

Run a lemon wedge around the rim of a highball glass and dip rim in celery salt. Fill glass halfway with ice. Add ingredients into the glass and stir. Garnish with a pepperoncini.

Charlotte’s Chocolatini

1 oz. vodka
1 oz. Bailey's Irish cream
1 oz. creme de cacao
1 teaspoon chocolate syrup
melted chocolate chips for glass rim

Melt chocolate chips in the microwave. Dip the rim of a Martini glass in the melted chocolate. Add ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into the chocolate-rimmed Martini glass.

Samantha’s Peach Stinger

1/2 oz. peach schnapps
1 1/2 oz. Brandy
peach slice for garnish

Add ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a Martini glass. Garnish with a peach slice.
