The Big Game might be over, but the Big Party will live on in our hearts for a long time to come.
That's because contest winner, Nina Ashkenazi, proposed a party idea that not only included lots of food, friends and football, but she wanted to use the party to raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, giving this big party and even bigger heart!
Check out all of the photos here. Once we announced Nina as our winner, the party planning went into high gear. Nina already had the venue - she just happens to work at the Center for Architecture in New York City which is a big, white, modern and airy space with the ability to project the game on a wall in the size of 10 x 15 feet!
So, we had all the bones for a great party.
Our Big Party was host to 130 guests and a Giants victory, but most importantly, it raised over $6000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
We'd like to again thank everyone who pitched in - Elegant Affairs, Heineken, Okamoto Studios, Classic Party Rentals, and of course our sponsors Hellmann's ® / Best Foods ®. We couldn't have done it without you!
Along with contest sponsor, Hellmann's ® / Best Foods ®, we brought in a celebrity event planner, a master ice sculptor and covered the tables in vibrant blue and white linens from tri Serve Party Rentals.
Beer
Of course, no Super Bowl party would be complete without beer and thanks to Heineken, each table had its own mini-draught keg as a centerpiece. This was a Super Bowl party unlike any other.
Catering
Andrea Correale of Elegant Affairs is used to planning and catering events for the society set's A-list and she gave this party her usual A-list treatment.
Andrea knows you can't have a Super Bowl party without all the usual dishes like hot wings, mini-burgers, chili, nachos, sub sandwiches and cookies.
But, in true Elegant Affairs style, all our favorites had never tasted so good or looked so chic! As the focal point of our buffet table, we contacted master ice sculptors.
Ice Sculptures
The father and son team of Takeo and Shinkaro Okamoto of Okamoto Studios created a 4 foot ice replica of the well-known Super Bowl trophy in an under lit centerpiece. Over the course of 3 days, our Super Bowl trophy came to life.
At Okamoto Studios, they love the idea of including ice sculptures at any event. Shintaro says ice sculptures aren't just for formal occasions and can be created in to elevate any event including birthdays or rooftop parties.
